Privacy Policy
ScreenOff (“we”, “us”, “the app”) is a sleep accountability app for iPhone. This Privacy Policy explains what information ScreenOff uses, what stays on your device, and what is handled by Apple. We designed ScreenOff to keep personal sleep data on your phone whenever possible.
1. Summary
- No ads and no third-party trackers in the app.
- Sleep plan, streaks, and night history are stored on your device.
- Screen Time / Family Controls selection is managed by Apple’s APIs on your device.
- Subscriptions are processed by Apple; we do not receive your full payment card details.
- We do not sell your personal information.
2. Information stored on your device
ScreenOff stores the following locally on your iPhone (for example in app storage / App Group storage):
- Sleep plan settings (bedtime, wake time, wind-down window, wake mission type)
- Streak, wins, and night history (bedtime / wake results)
- Preferences (theme, reminders, weekend mode, haptics, Busted mode, Hard lock PIN if you create one)
- Screen Time app/category selection tokens used to block apps during your sleep window
- Flags needed for alarms, shields, and mission completion
Your Hard lock PIN is stored on-device so ScreenOff can verify it. It is not uploaded to our servers. We do not operate a ScreenOff account system that syncs your sleep history to the cloud today.
3. Permissions ScreenOff may request
- Screen Time (Family Controls) — to block the apps and categories you choose during wind-down and overnight.
- Notifications / AlarmKit — to schedule wake-up alarms and optional bedtime reminders.
- Motion & fitness — only if you choose the “Move” wake mission, to count steps.
- Camera — only if you choose the QR wake mission, to scan your ScreenOff code.
You can deny or revoke these permissions in iOS Settings. Some features will not work without them.
4. Purchases and subscriptions
ScreenOff Pro is sold as an auto-renewable subscription through Apple’s App Store / StoreKit. Apple processes payment and provides us (via StoreKit on your device) with entitlement status such as whether Pro is active and an expiration date. Apple’s privacy policy also applies to App Store purchases: apple.com/legal/privacy.
Manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple ID subscriptions settings.
5. Analytics, advertising, and tracking
ScreenOff does not use third-party advertising SDKs, does not use App Tracking Transparency to track you across other companies’ apps and websites, and does not sell or share personal information for cross-app advertising.
6. Children
ScreenOff is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information through ScreenOff in a way that concerns you, contact us and we will help you delete on-device data by guiding you to reset or remove the app.
7. Data retention and deletion
Local ScreenOff data remains on your device until you reset it in the app, clear app data, or delete ScreenOff. Uninstalling ScreenOff removes app-stored data subject to iOS behavior. Apple retains App Store purchase records according to Apple’s policies.
8. International users
ScreenOff is designed primarily for use on your device. If you use ScreenOff outside your home country, your information is still primarily processed on-device and by Apple as your App Store provider.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as ScreenOff evolves. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of ScreenOff after an update means you acknowledge the revised policy.
